AAA star helps Frankie Kazarian win TNA International Championship

Steve Maclin’s run with the TNA International Championship is over after a cool surprise.

Steve Maclin’s run with the TNA International Championship is over. Frankie Kazarian now holds the gold thanks to help from a AAA star.

Early in the evening at Victory Road (Sept. 26, 2025), Maclin was interrupted by a familiar face. El Mesias made a surprise appearance to stare down the champ.

Mesias (aka Ricky Banderas, Mil Muertes) is currently competing in AAA. His career in Mexico is Hall of Fame worthy. Mesias is a four-time mega champion and recently lost the AAA Latin American Championship to El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. He also dabbled in TNA in the past for a violent feud with Abyss.

Back to Maclin versus Kazarian. Mr. Mayhem was ready to tag them and bag them for a spear in the tree of woe, however, Mesias arrived ringside. Maclin wasn’t waiting to find out why. He attacked Mesias on a suicide dive.

As the champion reentered the ring, Kazarian kicked the ropes into Maclin’s groin. Kaz capitalized for a slingshot cutter to win the prize. What a scoundrel.

Mesias’s appearance here is a cool surprise, albeit odd especially considering TNA is working a story with Jake Something accepting Kaz as his mentor. Jake was nowhere to be seen. Whatever the case, Maclin versus Mesias should be slobberknocking fun.
