Enzo Maresca has confirmed Axel Disasi won’t be considered for selection despite somewhat of an injury crisis at centre back.
Disasi was available for sale all summer, but for whatever reason a move away from Stamford Bridge failed to materialise.
The Frenchman is now training with the infamous “bomb squad” at Cobham, and faces a bleak few months in the wilderness until the January window.

Disasi reportedly turned down three loan moves to Premier League clubs on deadline day, whilst a late move to Monaco is said to have fallen through.
The 27-year-old is training away from the first team, but ahead of the Brighton game Chelsea have suffered somewhat of an injury crisis at centre back.

Maresca confirmed Tosin Adarabioyo has suffered a calf injury and won’t return until after the international break.
Wesley Fofana will also miss the next three games after suffering a concussion against Lincoln and must now follow the protocol.
That leaves Chelsea with Josh Acheampong and Trevoh Chalobah as their only fit centre backs, but Maresca confirmed he wouldn’t be bringing Disasi back into the fold.
“There is not any information from the club to consider that, so at the moment he is not an option,” he told his pre-match press conference.

Chelsea lost Levi Colwill to an ACL injury before the start of the season, and despite public pleas from Maresca his wish wasn’t granted.

With the current injuries it looks like the Chelsea are paying the price for not replacing Colwill, and Maresca is now left to find solutions with his existing options which is easier said than done.
