Sporting Jax on the road: What to watch in Gainbridge Super League at Carolina

Sporting Club Jacksonville women's soccer continues Gainbridge Super League action Sept. 28 against Carolina Ascent. Here's what fans need to know.

Flagler's finest: A year after winning national Division II honors at Flagler College, Andrea Fernandez found the net in Sporting Jax's first-ever home win, the Sept. 19 exhibition against Kansas City Current II. The rookie scored off the bench in the 62nd minute.

Hitting the road: Sporting Jax begins a three-week road trip in the Gainbridge Super League, beginning with a rematch against Carolina. The teams tied 2-2 on Sept. 13 at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, with Ashlyn Puerta and Maddie Kemp on target for Jacksonville.

The opposite sideline: How much energy will Carolina have? Although they were off the previous week, the Ascent will be in action for the second time in four days after facing Spokane Zephyr FC.

Injury watch: Sporting Jax midfielder Parker Roberts remains out indefinitely with a knee injury.
