The young Strasbourg striker scored his first Ligue 1 goal during Marseille's visit to La Meinau
Abdoul Ouattara - RC Strasbourg
Abdoul Ouattara scored his first goal for Racing Club de Strasbourg on Friday, September 26, at La Meinau against Olympique de Marseille (1-2). The match, part of the sixth round of Ligue 1, ended in dramatic fashion as Marseille staged a stoppage-time comeback.
Abdoul Ouattara made the most of his second-half introduction to net his first goal of the current campaign. The 19-year-old Strasbourg midfielder capitalized on a superb assist from Emanuel Emegha during a rapid home counterattack. A costly slip from Leonardo Balerdi inside the Marseille box paved the way for the young Alsatian, who slotted home with a precise finish.
Despite this promising opener, Strasbourg failed to hold on to their lead. Marseille first responded through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (1-1, 78th minute), before Amir Murillo sealed the win for the Olympians deep into injury time (1-2, 90+1), handing victory to his side.
