Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season features a battle of two desperate AFC Super Bowl contenders as the 1-2 Baltimore Ravens take on the 1-2 Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead.
The crew of Baltimore Beatdown gives their bold predictions for Sunday’s matchup with the defending AFC champs.
It’s hard to imagine the Ravens defense suddenly righting the ship against the Chiefs on Sunday. They’ve been scorched by Patrick Mahomes consistently in the past and will likely do so again on Sunday with over 300 yards. The tackling, however, will improve to limit the breakaway gains of Isaiah Pacheco, though he will still find holes for chunk gains. Mike Green will finally get his first sack against Jawaan Taylor, but that will be the only one the Ravens can manage. On offense, Lamar Jackson rises to the occasion with 350+ total yards and four total touchdowns, while Derrick Henry manages to hold onto the ball but doesn’t have a dominant game. It remains close until the end, when the Chiefs call and execute the right plays while the Ravens are unable to. Baltimore falls to 1-3 with a 35-31 loss. — Nikhil Mehta
The Ravens defense will perform as they have been, focusing their efforts on two high safety looks to limit deep plays, while offering limited extra support for the run and pass rush. Fortunately, this plays in favor against the Chiefs, who have struggled to run the ball and have tried to hit deep shots at one of the highest rates of any team this season. Because of this, the Ravens defense will look like they’ve “rounded into form”. The Ravens limit the Chiefs’ ground game to under 100 yards and only allow one pass play over 20+ air yards. Improved tackling from last week helps limit the Chiefs to their typical offensive output, scoring just under 20 points. Malaki Starks grabs the first interception of his career on a late Mahomes deep shot while the Chiefs try to get back into the game in the fourth quarter.
The Ravens score 30+ points again for the fourth straight week to start the season. Lamar Jackson and the offense go back to their typical formula, leaning on Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers as both go for over 100 yards. Isaiah Likely’s season debut starts with a trip to pay dirt, scoring in this one late to seal the game. Jackson throws his first interception of the season as Steve Spagnola’s defense always gives him trouble, but he makes up for it with a strong day on the ground. Jackson runs for over 30 yards and a score.

The Ravens’ defensive struggles continue on Sunday against the Chiefs as the unit is unable to sack Patrick Mahomes or force a turnover, marking the second game out of four this season with zero sacks and the third with no turnovers. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce has his way against Baltimore’s linebackers in the passing game, converting multiple key third downs for Mahomes to keep drives alive. The run defense rebounds from an abysmal showing last week against the Lions, but it does not matter, as Mahomes kills the Ravens defense with a thousand little cuts through the air all day.
On the other side of the ball, Lamar Jackson and the offense continue to hit on big plays, mostly through the air, as the offensive line fails to provide much room for Derrick Henry in the run game. Jackson has another strong day through the air, tossing three touchdowns, including one to Isaiah Likely in his season debut, while adding another 50+ yards on the ground. While Kansas City does not sack Jackson seven times like Detroit did a week ago, the unit still pressures him for much of the day, coming away with three sacks. At the end of the day, it is the Chiefs defense that forces a game-changing turnover to vault Kansas City to victory, leaving Baltimore at 1-3 with a ton of questions to answer in what was supposed to be a Super Bowl or bust season. — Dustin Cox
The Ravens’ defense will perform better in Week 4 than they have for much of the first three weeks and exceed expectations that are now awfully low. They’ll manage to limit the Chiefs to less than 100 yards on the ground, sack Patrick Mahomes multiple times, and collect a forced fumble courtesy of Kyle Hamilton. On the other side of the ball, Derrick Henry will have a nice bounce-back performance with 75+ yards rushing and a touchdown, while importantly breaking his streak of fumbles. Isaiah Likely will also find the end zone in his regular season debut along with 50+ receiving yards. The Ravens will once again be in position to win a close-knit battle in Kansas City late in the fourth quarter but come up just short after Mahomes works some magic with the ball on a final drive. — Frank Platko
