Oba Femi’s long run as champion is over.
The main event of tonight’s (Sat., Sept. 27, 2025) NXT No Mercy premium live event from the FTL War Memorial in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, featured dominant NXT Champion Oba Femi putting his long streak on the line against rising NXT star Ricky Saints.
The match they put together was a really fun battle all around the damn place, with Femi at one point getting the announcer’s table ready to put the challenger right through it. It wasn’t quite desperation but Ricky was answering the call every time.
That included an unbelievable slap on the apron into the Fall from Grace in the ring that only got a two count. Femi was shocked, in disbelief.
Saints countered a follow up Fall from Grace with yet another DDT, this one kicked off from the ropes. There would be no Ro Shambo in a match like this, with an opponent like Femi. So instead he used as many DDTs as he needed to.
Four did the trick.
Indeed, Saints pinned Femi right there in the middle of the ring to become the new NXT champion.
