Alabama’s recent dominance over Georgia continued again on Saturday night in a 24-21 win over the No. 5 Bulldogs.

The win drops Georgia coach Kirby Smart to 1-7 against Alabama and 0-2 against current Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer. And much like a season ago, DeBoer’s team jumped out to an early lead before putting the game away late.

Alabama converted a third down on a quarterback sneak by Ty Simpson with 2:20 to go before Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson was flagged for a personal foul for jumping on the pile. From there, the Crimson Tide ran out the clock to preserve the win thanks to a clutch third-down conversion after the 2-minute warning.

After Georgia used its last timeout, Simpson rolled out to throw a pass to the flat to running back Jam Miller to slid to the turf after getting the first down.

Neither team scored in the fourth quarter after Alabama led 24-14 at halftime. The Bulldogs pulled within three with 6:30 to go in the third quarter on a one-yard run by Josh McCray.
