Bayern Munich is looking great right now, eh?
United wants Kane (GiveMeSport)
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is about as hot as he could possibly be and with rumors that there could be a way for him to leave Bavaria after the season, Manchester United has its interest piqued:
Manchester United could look to complete a move for Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane in the summer of 2026, according to reports – with owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe thought to be a ‘big fan’ of the England captain, looking to bring his exploits to Old Trafford.
The 32-year-old could leave the Bundesliga champions due to a clause in his contract that kicks in should Kane confirm that he wants to leave Germany, and although Bayern are confident that he doesn’t want to leave, it’s a possibility that could arise. Tottenham Hotspur have first refusal on Kane after they sold him to Bayern in the summer of 2023, and are aware of his clause, though United are keen.
It’s thought that owner Ratcliffe is a ‘huge fan’ of Kane, and he would love to bring him to Old Trafford – despite United spending almost £200million on a new attacking trio this summer. Benjamin Sesko has been brought into their striking ranks, but he has yet to score for the Red Devils, whilst Matheus Cunha is out with injury and Bryan Mbeumo has been their best addition of the trio.
It is hard to know what Kane will do. Right now, it is easy to envision him staying around…and maybe even inking an extension. However, the Englishman does have a family to consider and likely some tough choices ahead.
Kimmich won more games in first 300 appearances than anyone in league history (OptaFranz)
On Friday, Bayern Munich stars Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka each made their 300th Bundesliga appearance. For Kimmich, it was also his 218th victory — which is the most ever for 300 Bundesliga matches:
Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show: Bayern Munich 4-0 Werder Bremen (Bundesliga)

Let’s get into all of the details — here is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting XI — Tom Bischof and Leon Goretzka got the nod in the central midfield because Joshua Kimmich was sick.

Report says Bayern is dead serious on Guéhi, but needs to get moving (Football365)
Bayern Munich’s negotiations with Dayot Upamecano have not yielded a new deal yet, so the club could be putting together contingency plans in the background should Upamecano or Kim Min-jae opt to leave after this season:
Bayern Munich are ready to “throw everything” at Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi to beat Liverpool to his signature, according to reports in Germany. The Reds are still the frontrunners in the race to sign the England centre-back, who can negotiate a pre-contract with foreign clubs from January 1. This gives the likes of Bayern and Real Madrid the upper hand, but with everything already in place for Guehi to join Liverpool, they remain the strong favourites.
There is fierce competition to sign Guehi and Bundesliga champions Bayern are well and truly in the race. This is according to German transfer expert Christian Falk, who has told BILD: “He’s also one of the players Bayern really want if Min-jae Kim is sold next summer. It must be said, though, Bayern need to hurry. Liverpool and Palace had already agreed in this transfer window, with the fee set at 40 million.
In addition to that story, Sport Bild journalists Falk (referenced above) and Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia) are reporting that Guéhi could be the solution if Kim Min-jae leaves the club:
Marc Guéhi is an interesting option for Bayern on a free transfer next summer, depending on what happens with Kim Min-jae.
LFC serious about Upamecano (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
If Dayot Upamecano does ultimately decide to leave Bayern Munich, Liverpool might be eager to give him a new home:
It is true that Liverpool are looking at Dayot Upamecano. Bayern have been trying to give Upamecano a new contract for months. I think it’s coming up to a year of talks! And the time is running out, because next summer he’s a free agent, and it makes him so interesting for many, many clubs. Liverpool, of course, have the same situation with Ibrahima Konate – he’s also going to be a free agent next summer. And yes, if Liverpool can get a player like Dayot Upamecano for free, that’s pretty good business. That said, every top club in the world is looking at him; I heard that Real Madrid is very, very interested in him. Also, the player is understood to be on the list at Manchester United and PSG.
David Alaba, a former Bayern player, was a free agent when he went to Real Madrid from Bayern. And Toni Rüdiger, he was also a free agent. Bayern Munich were interested before he moved from Chelsea to Real. Now both are set to become free agents next summer. I don’t think they’ll get new contracts in Madrid. And that’s why Real Madrid have also got an eye on Dayot Upamecano. With Liverpool, we now have another big side ready to take part in the poker. That makes it very hard for Bayern Munich, as I heard that the Bundesliga champions don’t want to pay him the salary he’s looking for. That’s why things have gone a little bit quiet about his contract talks, which could be really dangerous for Bayern, as he’s very important for the defence.
The longer this goes on with Upamecano not signing a contract extension, the more tense this will get. It is hard to envision Bayern Munich without Upamecano as its lead center-back.

Eberl thrilled with Díaz (@iMiaSanMia)
Max Eberl is completely happy with the job being done at Bayern Munich by winger Luis Díaz.
“After Thomas and Leroy’s departures, It was clear we wanted to do something in attack. We wanted pace, one-v-one ability and consistency. We then landed on Luis fairly quickly. Luis brings everything we need. Then we wanted to make the transfer happen. For a transfer like this between two big clubs, all parties must come together. It soon became clear that Lucho wanted to come to us. We’re very happy that he’s here, he’ll have an instant impact. He’s already performed at the highest level,” said Eberl.
Bayern, Chelsea vying for Barrios? (The Hard Tackle)
Bayern Munich and Chelsea could be poised to battle it out for Atlético Madrid central midfielder Pablo Barrios:
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Pablo Barrios is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Blues are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder in the winter transfer window. So, the 22-year-old Atletico Madrid midfield sensation has emerged as a target for the West London club.
The Blues are ready to submit a bid worth €70 million to tempt Atletico Madrid to part ways with the Spaniard in the winter transfer window. However, Barrios is also a target for Bayern Munich, with Los Rojiblancos in a spot of bother to keep the youngster at the Metropolitano Stadium for the long haul.
Pablo Barrios has been on Chelsea’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest is perplexing, considering Andrey Santos has established a foothold. However, the fitness issues troubling Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo may have played a part in compelling Chelsea to pursue a midfielder in the winter transfer window. They are ready to pay €70 million to sign Barrios from Atletico Madrid.
As for Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champions have had their sights set on the 22-year-old Spaniard for several months. The continued interest makes sense, considering Leon Goretzka’s long-term future is uncertain. However, Bayern Munich can do with a versatile midfielder even if Goretzka remains at the Allianz Arena for a few more years.
However, with Chelsea ready to pay €70 million to sign Barrios, Bayern Munich must act quickly to secure his services. Meanwhile, convincing Atletico Madrid to part ways with the Spanish international may be a tall order, even for a fee worth €70 million.
As of now, it is hard to predict what Bayern Munich will do in the central midfield. Joshua Kimmich is a mainstay and Aleksandar Pavlović and Tom Bischof both look to have bright futures. That does not even count the potential of Leon Goretzka signing an extension or Konrad Laimer making a return to the central midfield.
It is near impossible to know if the Bavarians would be looking to invest anything into a pursuit of Barrios, but it is an interesting situation to keep an eye on from a distance.
