Bear and Tiger Bachmeier are brothers who have become central figures for the BYU football team in 2025. Each transferred from Stanford and quickly established themselves in key roles. Bear, the younger brother, made history as the first true freshman quarterback to start a season opener for BYU.

He was highly recruited out of Murrieta Valley High School in California for his dual-threat ability and competitiveness, earning All-State honors and multi-sport recognition before making his stop at Stanford. 247 Sports Greg Biggins said, "(Bear) Bachmeier is an exciting dual-threat quarterback who can beat a defense with his arm or his legs. At 6-2, 225 pounds, he’s built like a tank and can take off and run for big yards and does a nice job escaping initial pressure and extending plays. ."

Tiger, a junior wide receiver, brings experience as a former starter and return specialist at Stanford, having totaled 46 receptions, 476 yards, and two touchdowns at his previous school. He’s also BYU’s primary punt returner and is well-known for a 90-yard return touchdown in his collegiate debut.

Raised in a family that values both academics and athletics, Bear and Tiger attended Murrieta Valley High, where they thrived in football, music, and additional extracurriculars. Their older brother, Hank, was a standout quarterback at Boise State, Louisiana Tech, and Wake Forest, while their sister, Ella, competed in collegiate track, and their brother, Buck, is also involved in sports.
