La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday made official a fresh personnel setback in the club’s first-team ranks.
The Blancos star set for an incoming spell on the sidelines? Dani Carvajal.
Defender Carvajal was for his part in from the off yesterday evening, as Real Madrid made the trip to the Metropolitano for the season’s first Madrid Derby.
En route to an eventual 5-2 defeat for his side, however, the Spanish international was hooked from proceedings before the hour mark.
Initially, it was thought that as much came amid efforts on the part of Xabi Alonso to shake things up in his XI.
Post-match, however, word was forthcoming that Carvajal had picked up a fitness problem.
And as alluded to above, a day on, the extent of as much has been revealed.
As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms:
‘Following tests carried out today on Dani Carvajal by Real Madrid’s medical department, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.’
