Eagles lose another DE to a triceps injury

The Eagles had another DE suffer a triceps injury on Sunday against the Buccaneers.

The Eagles were playing well on both offense and defense on Sunday against the Buccaneers, but they did get some unfortunate news before halftime when DE Ogbo Okoronkwo was ruled out with a triceps injury.

It’s a pretty notable blow to the Eagles edge rush group, who already lost Nolan Smith for what is expected to be about six weeks — Smith re-aggravated the triceps injury he sustained in the Super Bowl. Now, Okoronkwo will be out too, leaving the defense with Jalyx Hunt, Za’Darius Smith, and Patrick Johnson for the rest of the game.

Fortunately, DC Vic Fangio still has guys he trusts that he can turn to, and have a handful of outside linebacker they can work with to fill in until Smith is back. Hopefully Okoronkwo isn’t out for too long, but we’ll have to wait and see how bad the injury is — recovery time could span weeks to months.
