Stock up, stock down after the Buffalo Bills' 31-19 win over the New Orleans Saints

Here is the stock report of the Buffalo Bills' 31-19 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

The Buffalo Bills (4-0) began the 2025 NFL season with the mission of finally getting over the hump of getting to the Super Bowl with the chance to win it all.

Buffalo did what they needed to do during the first three weeks of the season by beating the team that they were supposed to beat and they continued that trend with their matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday (0-4).

The Bills beat the lowly Saints 31-19 on Sunday in a game where they were considered 14-point favorites over a New Orleans squad being led by Spencer Rattler and company. While trap games can be worrisome for teams like Buffalo that are looking to contend for championships, quarterback Josh Allen and the rest of the bills made the necessary plays to get the job done.

The game wasn't exactly a wire-to-tire affair as the Bills went into the fourth quarter with just a 21-16 lead, but Buffalo did what championship contenders do and that's close games in a strong manner. At the end of the day, Buffalo is 4-0 to begin the season and that should give them hope for the rest of the season.

Here is Bills Wire's stock report after Sunday's win over the Saints:

Stock Up: QB Josh Allen

Allen has been consistent since the beginning of the season as he hasn't always been prolific, but he has been efficient with his throws. Allen finished this contest completing 16-of-22 passes for 209 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while also carrying the ball seven times for 45 yards and one touchdown. Allen has been doing it all.

Stock Down: TE Dawson Knox

Knox is in a tough situation given that he's sharing snaps at the tight end position with Dalton Kincaid and Jackson Hawes within an offense that isn't exactly throwing it all over the yard on any given Sunday. The Saints did not have an answer for running back James Cook on the ground (more on him later) so the Bills only attempted 22 passes, but Knox has to be able to command more than one target.

Stock Up: S Cole Bishop

Bishop is still learning plenty of nuances in the NFL while being a contributing member of the defensive backfield in his second season, but he is starting to put the knowledge and the production together. Bishop not only contributed in run defense with five tackles (four solo), he was also huge in pass coverage with one interception and a pass deflection.

Stock Down: DE Greg Rousseau

Rousseau has had better days that what he put on display Sunday against a Saints offense that has to figure some things out. Rattler was sacked three times so the defensive line was able to get home at times on Rattler, but one would have hoped that Rousseau would have had more of an impact on this game in that regard. Better days are ahead.

Stock Up: RB James Cook

For the third straight week, Cook has done his fair share of making sure that the offense is having a strong performance as he contributed on the ground and through he air. Cook carried the ball 22 times for 117 yards and one touchdown while also catching 3-of-4 targets for 18 yards to show his impact in multiple ways within the offensive structure.

Stock Down: WR Curtis Samuel

Samuel is one of the depth receivers in a corps led by Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and tight end Dalton Kincaid so he is not necessarily expected to be one of the top contributors in every single game. However, Samuel did not provide much impact in this one and this could be an indication of Buffalo still looking for that third wide receiver to step up.
