[Arizona Sports] Perdomo records 100th RBI in silver lining of Diamondbacks’ blowout loss to end season – The D-backs dropped their season finale to the San Diego Padres, 12-4, to unceremoniously fall to 80-82. It is the first season in which the Diamondbacks finished below .500 since 2022. They were outscored 17-5 over the final two contests, which were meaningless in terms of the playoff picture, and earned a +6 run differential over 162 games. “It feels good, honestly, I don’t wanna lie,” Perdomo said of reaching 100. “I’m just more proud and happy because my teammates were cheering for it.” Marte added: ”That’s awesome. I’m always having a good year and I’ve never got 100. I’m not surprised. He worked so hard and he’s a guy who likes to learn.”
[Dbacks.com] Perdomo’s 100th RBI buoys teammates as D-backs’ campaign ends – They finished the year on a five-game losing streak and watched the Reds celebrate winning the final NL Wild Card spot on Sunday with just 83 wins. “I’m frustrated and probably beyond disappointed,” Lovullo said. “You know, you start to reflect on what’s going on and how close we came. These guys gave everything they had, that is perfectly clear to me. We played until last weekend, I’m proud of that. I’m very proud of that. But there’s 1,000 things that went on during the course of the year that we could have done better to help us win baseball games, and we got to figure this out.”

[AZCentral] ‘Confusing’ finish to Diamondbacks’ season; Lovullo’s job status uncertain – “It’s a little confusing to me,” Lovullo admitted. “I think at the time we were trading, everybody was charging at a 90-plus win (pace) that was going to qualify for the playoffs. It just shows you that things change. We won 89 games last year and didn’t get in the dance. You can’t take anything for granted.” He added: “We can charge as hard in April as we did this past month. Not that we took plays off, but I want them (my players) to understand that every game is very, very important.” The Diamondbacks head into the offseason with uncertainty looming around Lovullo. Another year remains on his contract, but he does not appear to be a lock to return.
[SI] Geraldo Perdomo Makes D-backs History – Perdomo finishes 2025 with an impressive .290/.389/.462 slash, 100 RBI and a career-high 20 home runs. He struck out 83 times against 94 walks in 720 plate appearances — playing in 161 games. That all adds up to an .851 OPS and the fifth-most FanGraphs WAR (7.1) in baseball. “It feels good, honestly, I don’t want to lie,” Perdomo said postgame. “Inside, I’m acting like it’s nothing. Because, at the end of the day, I know it was God. He did it for me. I’m just more proud and happy because my teammates, they were cheering for me. They were supporting. … I did it for them [and] my hitting coaches.”
[Arizona Sports] Torey Lovullo on job security after losing season: ‘This is a cutthroat industry’ – Lovullo signed a contract extension through 2026 after the team’s run to the 2023 World Series, but he acknowledged that does not spare him from being evaluated for next season. “There’s always doubt, right?” Lovullo said pregame on Sunday, before Arizona’s season finale. “This is a cutthroat industry. I take the mindset that I want to impress Mr. Kendrick and Derrick Hall and my bosses every single day. That’s my main goal. And I do have a contract for next year, but who knows? Anything is possible. We’ll see what happens.” When asked whether anyone has talked to him to reassure his job security for next season, Lovullo said he has not heard anything on that subject.
[MLB Daily Dingers] Corbin Carroll Punched a Ticket Into One of MLB’s Rarest Clubs – How many triples can Carroll hit over the course of his career? It feels like the limit does not exist. But let’s put some numbers against it. Sam Crawford is the all-time triples leader with 309. Carroll would have to average about 15 triples per year for the next 18 years to get there, which doesn’t feel likely. But the top 10 might be doable. Paul Waner is currently 10th with 191. Carroll would have to average 15 triples per year for the next decade to make it happen. Can he get it done? Now we just get to do the most enjoyable part — wait and see while we enjoy watching him play.
