U-M now has just a singular defensive back committed in the current senior class in safety Andre Clarke Jr., but it's likely that will change.
Dorian Barney, a one-time Michigan football Class of 2026 commit, has flipped his decision.
The four-star cornerback out of Carrollton, Georgia (Carrollton High) announced on social media over the weekend that he has opted to stay in SEC country and has instead pledged to Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back initially chose the Wolverines over Ole Miss, as well as other programs like Penn State, Texas A&M, Colorado and Georgia Tech. Barney is rated the No. 22 cornerback in the nation, the No. 28 player in Georgia and No. 228 overall player in the class at any position according to 247Sports composite rankings.
The Wolverines now just have one defensive back committed in the current senior class in safety Andre Clarke Jr., but the expectation is they will soon make a push to land at least another player in Lamar Morgan's unit. Among the names to watch, five-star Notre Dame commit Khary Adams, the No. 1 cornerback in the nation, as well as five-star safety Davon Benjamin, who is ranked the No. 3 safety in the country.
Michigan now has 21 commits in the class and comes in as the No. 10 graded crop in the country.
