Here's a look at the Broncos' depth chart for a 'Monday Night Football' clash with the Bengals.
The Denver Broncos have released an updated depth chart ahead of their Week 4 clash with the Cincinnati Bengals, but there are no notable changes.
On the defensive line, the backup spot behind D.J. Jones remains blank after the team placed Malcolm Roach on short-term injured reserve. Behind the three starters, Eyioma Uwazurike played 38 snaps and Jordan Jackson played 21 snaps as rotational defensive linemen in Week 3.
Fans should note that while this depth chart comes straight from the team, the Broncos still call it an "unofficial" depth chart, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. For the most part, though, it's probably close to how coach Sean Payton stacks up each position.
Denver Broncos Depth Chart
Quarterback (3)
- QB1: Bo Nix
- QB2: Jarrett Stidham
- QB3: Sam Ehlinger
Bo Nix enters Year 2 looking to build on his promising rookie season.
Running back (4)
- RB1: J.K. Dobbins
- RB2: R.J. Harvey
- RB3: Tyler Badie
- RB4: Jaleel McLaughlin
Denver also has Deuce Vaughn available on the practice squad.
Tight end/fullback (5)
- TE1: Evan Engram
- TE2: Adam Trautman
- TE3: Nate Adkins
- TE4: Lucas Krull
- FB: Adam Prentice
Fullback Adam Prentice was promoted to the active roster last week.
Wide receiver (5)
Sutton (42) and Franklin (41) continue to lead the wide receiver snaps with Mims (23) and Sherfield (22) rotating in and Bryant (13) still competing for more playing time
Offensive line (9)
- LT: Garett Bolles, Matt Peart
- LG: Ben Powers, Alex Palczewski
- C: Luke Wattenberg, Alex Forsyth
- RG: Quinn Meinerz, Alex Palczewski
- RT: Mike McGlinchey, Frank Crum
Palczewski serves as an extra sixth offensive lineman in the team's "jumbo" formations. He's officially designated as a tight end and an eligible receiver in those situations, but he's brought in as an extra blocker.
Defensive line (6)
- DE: Zach Allen, Jordan Jackson
- DT: D.J. Jones
- DE: John Franklin-Myers, Eyioma Uwazurike, Sai'vion Jones
Roach was the team's top backup rotational defensive lineman behind Allen, Jones and JFM, but Denver still has good depth in the trenches. For now, there's no official backup listed behind Jones.
Outside linebacker (5)
- OLB1: Jonathon Cooper, Jonah Elliss
- OLB2: Nik Bonitto, Dondrea Tillman, Que Robinson
Robinson has been a healthy scratch for the team's first three games, which is more of a reflection of the Broncos' impressive OLB depth than any kind of indictment on Robinson.
Inside linebacker (3)
- ILB: Alex Singleton
- ILB: Justin Strnad, Karene Reid
After placing Dre Greenlaw on injured reserve, the Broncos now officially list Justin Strnad as a starter next to Alex Singleton. Garret Wallow has been elevated from the practice squad to the game-day roster for each of the last two games.
Cornerback (5)
- CB1: Pat Surtain, Jahdae Barron
- CB2: Riley Moss, Kris Abrams-Draine
- Slot: Ja'Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron
Surtain (86) and Moss (86) continue to play all the defensive snaps at the outside cornerback spots. McMillian (60) remains the nickelback with Barron (16) getting rotational snaps in the secondary.
Safety (5)
Key (28), Skinner (20) and Locke (16) only played snaps on special teams last week.
Special teams (3)
- K: Wil Lutz
- P: Jeremy Crawshaw
- LS: Mitchell Fraboni
- KR: Marvin Mims, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie
- PR: Marvin Mims, Riley Moss
It's silly that Harvey still isn't listed as a returner because he's clearly the No. 2 option behind Mims on kickoffs, and he had a 27-yard return in Week 3.
The Broncos are considered home favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football in Week 4. Next week, Denver will go on the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles (view the Broncos' full schedule).
