1’ – The Blues get us underway!

The siren has gone, Z-Cars has played to great cheer, the light show has gone with aplomb and we’re ready to play some football!

Starting Lineups

Everton: No real surprises here as David Moyes has chosen his strongest lineup here trying to prove a point to his former employers. Beto gets the call up front ahead of Barry, who could yet make an impact as a second half substitute. 200th Premier League appearance for Everton for Gana tonight.

West Ham: Nuno Santo in his first game in charge hasn’t tried to change too much here. Small surprise that deadball specialist James Ward-Prowse is not in squad at all, won’t miss his corners and freekicks.

Match Preview

Everton are back to the friendly and new confines of Hill Dickinson Stadium looking to get back on track after two away games resulted in defeats of differing natures. A close loss in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield might have been foreseen, but David Moyes making seven changes and then the side playing pathetically poorly in the Carabao Cup exit at Wolves has certainly gotten the fanbase riled up again.

West Ham were struggling under Graham Potter but have now made the change, replacing the former Brighton and Chelsea manager with Nuno Santo, formerly of Wolves, Tottenham and then Nottingham Forest. The Portuguese manager was closely linked with taking over at Goodison Park at one point too.

The injury situation remains about the same for the Blues with Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl still out, while the visitors have Tomas Soucek suspended and Aaron Wan Bissaka ill.
