What’s front and center on your mind as the Yankees gear up to defend their pennant?
It’s time. The regular season is over, and the Yankees have their spot in the postseason bracket — they’ll face the Red Sox in the Wild Card Series for the right to meet the Blue Jays in the ALDS. An AL East blood bath to make it anywhere in October was probably New York’s worst nightmare a month ago, but they’ve turned it on since late August and enter the postseason as one of the hottest teams in baseball. They have their work cut out for them, but in a wide open field they once again enter with 94 wins and good odds.
In the blink of an eye the Yankees’ season could be over, or they could finish off one of their division rivals. Who will move onto the ALDS will already be determined by the time we get around to this mailbag at the end of the week, so feel free to look at the big picture as we move into October. Will this be the year Aaron Judge has his breakout postseason run? Can the Yankees overcome their poor divisional record when it matters most? Is playing in the Wild Card a detriment, or can it set up a deep run? If you have questions like this, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday afternoon. All questions received by the night of October 2nd will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
