The Dallas Cowboys offered a pair of positive injury updates on wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and right guard Tyler Booker.
Both players suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears and are expected to miss multiple weeks with their ailments. Their first missed contest came in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers.
However, the good news is, both players are expected to avoid injured reserve, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said. Adding to that, Booker has shed his walking boot.
Brian Schottenheimer said the Cowboys don’t anticipate putting CeeDee Lamb or Tyler Booker on IR, “but we reserve the right to change our mind.” Booker is out of the protective boot.

Lamb was spotted utilizing a boot on Sunday night, so it would appear he has yet to shed his. The fact that Booker is out of his boot suggests he could be on a bit faster return track than the star wide receiver.
Initial estimates had Booker missing four to six weeks, while Lamb was estimated to be sidelined three to four. The fact that neither one is expected to be placed on IR means the Cowboys expect them back by the fourth week, at the latest.
That is certainly positive news for a Cowboys team that has so little margin for error moving forward.
