Will the second European game go better than the first?
Coming off of a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin this past Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings are expected to bounce back this coming Sunday as they relocate to a different portion of the British Isles.
Week 5 will see the purple play their second consecutive European road game as they’ll serve as the road team against the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The early line from the folks at FanDuel has the Vikings sitting as a 3.5-point favorite in the early betting.
The sharps are, apparently, expecting a defensive battle as well, as the over/under for this one is currently sitting at 36.5 points, by far the lowest total the Vikings have seen this season. It’s also five full points lower than the next-lowest over/under total for any Week 5 contest at FanDuel right now.
The Browns come into this game at 1-3 behind venerable. . .which is a polite way of saying “old”. . .quarterback Joe Flacco at the helm. The Browns have yet to top the 17-point mark in any game they’ve played this season, and their lone victory was a 13-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, a game that saw them trailing 10-0 with four minutes remaining in regulation.
The Vikings will be looking to bounce back after their furious attempt at a comeback against the Steelers fell short when their final drive collapsed. They trailed 24-6 going into the fourth quarter but rallied to give themselves a chance on their final possession. They’re also likely to be without three starts on the offensive line, as Donovan Jackson will remain out following wrist surgery, Ryan Kelly will likely be out with a concussion, and Brian O’Neill will be out with a sprained MCL.
Coming off of their performance on Sunday against Pittsburgh, do you think the Vikings should be favored on Sunday in London against the Browns, folks? Let us know what you think!
