He remains Intercontinental champion after Raw this week but it’s clear he should be higher up the card.
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in North Carolina featured Dominik Mysterio defending the Intercontinental championship against Rusev relatively early in the evening. It is not a spot on the card a star of Dirty Dom’s caliber should be working. And if you believe this man is not a star at the level of those working at the top — up to and including the world heavyweight champion, regardless of the brand he is on — you need only watch the aforementioned match.
Here’s how they finished it:
Yes, that’s Mysterio digging into Eddie Guerrero’s old bag of tricks to lie, cheat, and steal his way to victory. It worked beautifully both because it’s Eddie’s gimmick and it makes sense to work that way against a brute like Rusev. But just listen to the crowd!
They loved it!
Sure, you can keep this man in the mid-card, messing around in matches like this while asking him to be a star for both WWE and AAA, but it’s high time we stop messing around with Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins part 476 and move into the era of Dirty deeds done dirt cheap.
Right?!?
