MIAMI GARDENS — Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was carted off the field with an apparent serious knee injury early in the third quarter of Miami's game against the New York Jets at Hard Rock Stadium on "Monday Night Football."

Hill caught a short pass to the right side of the field and was hauled down near the sideline by a Jets defender. His left leg appeared to be in an unnatural position after the tackle.

He was officially ruled out with a left knee injury in the third quarter. Hill was taken to a local hospital for evaluation according to the ESPN broadcast.

Players from both teams approached Hill to offer encouragement after the injury. Hill's mother kissed him on the forehead before he left the field.
