Texas high school quarterback throws 8 TDs in first half

Records were seemingly being broken left and right last week, but one Texas high school football standout performance that slipped below anyone’s radar was done in just two quarters of work.

Tioga (TX) senior quarterback Greeley McAden had himself a career night in the Bulldogs’ 72-0 victory over Trenton last week. McAden ended the epic performance completing 23 of 25 passes for 481 yards and eight touchdowns, adding another on the ground, in just one half of work.

The signal caller didn’t play in the second half, according to Tioga head coach Zach Birdwell.

If McAden would’ve played whatsoever in the second half and the Bulldogs aired it out, the quarterback would have been closing in a history potentially.

The Texas high school football record for touchdowns in a single game was set back in 2018 by Stamford‘s Peyton Bevel, who threw for 789 yards and 12 scores. Both the yardage and touchdowns are state records currently.

Through four games this season for Tioga, McAden has completed 49 of 65 passes for 906 yards, 12 touchdowns and zero picks. McAden has also been an effective runner on the ground for the Bulldogs as the senior has carried the rock 43 times for 486 yards and scored eight times.
