New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo is off to a strong start to his career, and so much so that he landed impressively high in Pro Football Focus' rankings.

After a quiet Week 1, New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo has gotten more and more involved as the season has progressed.

Skattebo saw a career-high number of touches in Week 4, with the rookie back seeing 27, which he turned into 90 scrimmage yards, including 79 in the ground. The Arizona State product also played a career-high 52 snaps.

Through four games of the 2025 season, Skattebo has earned an impressive overall grade of 83.7, which Pro Football Focus' Lauren Gray notes is the fourth-highest among all NFL rookies, regardless of position, and the highest among rookie running backs.

Skattebo played a season-high 52 offensive snaps against the Chargers. He gained 79 rushing yards on 25 carries, including a 16-yard gain up the middle early in the first quarter. He tallied four first downs and forced three missed tackles, giving him 11 in his past three games. The fourth-rounder produced 82.3% of his yards after contact.

Stunningly, Skattebo is actually the highest-graded running back in the entire NFL and ranks third in rushing grade and second in receiving grade at the position.

Skattebo remains the NFL's highest-graded running back through Week 4, ranking in the top three in both PFF rushing (82.3) and receiving (79.0) grades. Skattebo now has 181 yards rushing across 48 carries, with five gains of 10-plus yards. Most of his carries (36) have come in zone schemes. He has caught 12 of 15 passes for 98 yards and four first downs.

Skattebo was initially expected to play second fiddle to Tyrone Tracy, but thanks to injury and ineffective play, the rookie has gotten more opportunities over the last three weeks.

Skattebo is just one piece of the youth movement the Giants are seeing on offense. As you've probably heard (just kidding, of course you have), the Giants recently turned to Jaxson Dart, who won his first NFL game on Sunday.

If Dart and Skattebo can continue making progress for the rest of the season, the Giants might have two important positions on offense locked up for the long haul.
