The Los Angeles Chargers made some moves to their practice squad roster.
Los Angeles Chargers address offensive line (kind of), team signs two players originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Los Angeles Chargers have a growing concern with their offensive line.
Heading into this season, it looked like the O-line would be the strength of the team, just the way Jim Harbaugh likes it. But a quarter of the season in, Rashawn Slater has been lost for the season, Joe Alt will miss multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain and Mekhi Becton has battled injuries.
It's a terrible sign for a team that got off to such a strong start, but the team is not taking drastic measures... yet.
On Tuesday, the team announced that it had signed an offensive lineman to the practice squad, one of four moves the team made.
Offensive lineman Michael Dunn and defensive back Isas Waxter were brought onto the practice and the team released cornerback Myles Purchase and linebacker Rashad Weaver.
Dunn is the name that fans may focus on as he is another offensive lineman. He came into the NFL in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Maryland, beginning his career with the Los Angeles Rams. He then had stints in the Alliance of American Football as well as the XFL before coming back to the NFL. He spent five seasons with the Cleveland Browns, where he made nine starts for the team while playing in a total of 53 games.
Earlier this summer, he had a short stint with the San Francisco 49ers but will now join a team that could use experience to help the overall depth of the offensive line. It's not a signing that fans are going to be really excited about, but Dunn is a player the team can turn to in a pinch... and it might have to.

Waxter played his college ball at Villanova before being signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He spent the preseason in Seattle but was cut before the season started.
