Knights in the NFL; How Former Rutgers Players Have Done Through Week 4

How have the NFL Knights done four weeks into the season.

With Rutgers football being on a bye week, the time has come to see how former Scarlet Knights are doing for their NFL teams.

Not all former Rutgers players on an NFL Team made an appearance through the first four weeks of the season. Players like offensive tackle Hollin Pierce and wide receiver JaQuae Jackson have not seen the field this season and are on their team’s practice squad. Other players like cornerback Robert Longerbeam, fullback Micheal Burton, defensive tackle Kyonte Hamilton, cornerback Eric Rogers, and defensive tackle Isaiah Iton have not taken a snap in the regular season due to them being on injury reserve.

The Starters

Max Melton- Cornerback, Arizona Cardinals

Starting off this list with the starters themselves, Melton has proven himself to be a solid starter at cornerback for the Cardinals, however, he has struggled to guard top end talent such as Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahwaks. He currently has three passes defended on the year, with 14 total tackles as well.

Isiah Pacheco- Running back, Kansas City Chiefs

Analysts have been saying all year that the Chiefs need to get their ground game going. Despite being the Chiefs starting running back, Pacheco only has 32 carries through the first four games of 2025. He also only has six catches and one touchdown on the season, which came off of one of those catches last game. Despite the light load, Pacheco is averaging four yards per carry on the year. He could see his numbers drastically increase if the Chiefs begin to diversify their offense.

Sebastian Joseph-DayDefensive tackle, Tennesse Titans

Joseph-Day is perhaps coming off his best game of the season so far, as he recorded four tackles in the Titans blowout loss to the Houston Texans. Despite the Titans poor record, Joseph-Day has proven himself to be a solid option at defensive tackle, as he has registered 8 total tackles and 1 fumble recovery so far this season.

Other Notable Knights

Kyle Monangai- Running back, Chicago Bears

After not seeing any handoffs in the first game of the season, Monangai has seen his opportunities increase in the following three games, albeit in very limited fashion. Since that first game of the season, Monangai has carried the ball 17 times and gained 62 yards. His longest rush of the season so far is 10 yards and he is yet to score a touchdown. He also has three catches for 23 yards as well.

Chistian Izien- Defensive back, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Izien is expected to be a reserve player for the Buccaneers, playing on their two deep rotation in their defensive backfield. He has struggled to stay on the field this season, missing the first and last game due to injury. He did play in the two games between those two where he registered one tackle.

Special Teamers

Bo Melton- Cornerback, Green Bay Packers

After making the switch from wide reciever to cornerback in the off-season, Melton has seen time on Green Bay’s special teams unit. He was expected to be used in a reserve role on defense but has not seen the field on defense so far this season. In the Packers’ last game against the Cowboys, Melton had two kickoff returns which totaled 60 yards.

Christian Braswell- Cornerback, Jacksonville Jaguars

Braswell is another special teamer that Rutgers has in the NFL. He is yet to record a stat this season.

Andrew Depoala- Long snapper, Minnesota Vikings

Depoala has been the main long snapper for the Vikings this season.

Jude McAtamney- Kicker, New York Giants

After Graham Gano went down with injury, McAtamney was elevated from the practice squad and beat out Younghoe Koo for the fill-in job. He hit both of his field goals and drilled a point after attempt in the Giants win over the Chargers. He is now three for three on field goals in his NFL career.
