NFL Week 5 schedule rankings and predictions

NFL Week 5 includes byes for several of the teams, with the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and Pittsburgh Steelers all off until Week 6. That means 14 games are on the schedule, and a few of them are exciting matchups. Then again, some have to fill out the bottom of the card when it comes to rankings. The usual suspects are in some of those slots.

Here are the full NFL Week 5 schedule rankings and game predictions.

14. Miami Dolphins at Carolina Panthers

This game speaks for itself in bad. The Dolphins have only beaten the Jets. The Panthers somehow walloped the Falcons and then went back to sleep against the Patriots. Prediction: Panthers 20, Dolphins 17

13. Tennessee Titans at Arizona Cardinals

Arizona has a weak offense. Tennessee has no offense. Prediction: Cardinals 23, Titans 6

12. New York Giants at New Orleans Saints

The Saints showed some life against the Bills. MetLife Field ruined Malik Nabers' chance to come back and play in Louisiana. The Saints will hassle Jaxson Dart and Kellen Moore will get his first win. Prediction: Saints 17, Giants 13

11. Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets

Will Aaron Glenn start 0-5? Why not? Prediction: Cowboys 23, Jets 17

10. Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens

No one would believe these teams would be 1-3 coming into this one if you told them those would be the records before the season. Lamar Jackson is out and the Ravens are in a world of trouble. Prediction: Ravens 16, Texans 13

9. Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns

The Vikings look to square their record in International Series games in 2025. Could Cleveland seriously bench Joe Flacco in favor of Dillon Gabriel? They must think it worked for the Giants against the Chargers. The Vikings will ruin Gabriel's starting debut. Prediction: Vikings 23, Browns 15

8. Detroit Lions at Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are en route to becoming a contender for the firts pick in the NFL draft. The loss of Joe Burrow crushed this franchise. The Lions shall feast. Prediction: Lions 37, Bengals 10

7. New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills

The Bills at home against an AFC East opponent. Pretty much name the score with Buffalo on top. Prediction: Bills 31, Patriots 14

6. Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts

Daniel Jones shall bounce back. Interesting game with top running backs as the league's leading rusher Jonathan Taylor goes against the Raiders' Ashton Jeanty. Poor Pete Carroll. Prediction: Colts 27, Raiders 20

5. Denver Broncos at Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles usually play half a game and find a way to win. At some point, it will bite them. Just don't think it will be against the Broncos, who played on Monday night. Prediction: Eagles 33, Broncos 23

4. San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

The Rams were not fazed by losing a tough one to the Eagles. They came home and walloped the Colts. San Francisco is more like an infirmary than a locker room. This game is on Thursday for a team that is battered and bruised. Prediction: Rams 26, 49ers 14

3. Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars

Patrick Mahomes found his groove against the Ravens. The Jaguars are 3-1 but not selling anyone on this is a real playoff contender. Andy Reid shows Liam Coen how it is done. Prediction: Chiefs 33, Jaguars 24

2. Washington Commanders at Los Angeles Chargers

With Jayden Daniels returning, this should be an exciting game with both offenses being featured. What happened at MetLife to the Chargers should have jolted them back to football reality. Look for Justin Herbert and Daniels to put up big numbers in a wild west shootout. Prediction: Chargers 37, Commanders 33

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks

An interesting matchup between NFC teams with playoff hopes in the Northwest. The Buccaneers are smarting after losing at home to the Eagles. Seattle is coming off a mini-bye after a Thursday win at Arizona. Expect this to be a tight, intense game between teams led by former Panthers quarterbacks. Prediction: Buccaners 26, Seahawks 24
