Chiefs' offense expected to get 'even better' after Ravens blowout

The Chiefs' weaponry is getting healthy.

Chiefs' offense expected to get 'even better' after Ravens blowout originally appeared on The Sporting News

Was it a coincidence that the Kansas City Chiefs' offense looked the way it did in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens due to the return of Xavier Worthy, and hung up 37 points?

Possibly. Or was it a case of Kansas City playing one of the worst defenses in football, and that made it easier to get their groove back? In truth, it's likely six of one, half a dozen of the other.

But we saw the impact that Worthy can have on this offense and everyone around him, and that is what this offense was ideally supposed to look like, according to one Chiefs person who spoke with ESPN's Dan Graziano.

"I asked some Chiefs people about the way the offense looked with Xavier Worthy back from his shoulder injury," Graziano wrote. "One response I got: "That's the way it was supposed to look in Brazil before play 3 lol.

"With Worthy back, the offense sprang to life (against an admittedly undermanned Ravens defense), and Kansas City's expectation is that it will get even better in Week 7 when Rice returns from his six-game personal conduct policy suspension."

Chiefs facing crucial three-week stretch

Yes, the Chiefs got back to 2-2 after an 0-2 start, but Andy Reid's team isn't out of the woods yet, and there are plenty of people thinking that Kansas City has discovered its mojo after the Ravens win, and that appears to be the case, but the next three weeks will tell us a lot.

The Chiefs face the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road before home games against the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders.

That is a tough stretch, with the Jaguars having the league's best defense, the Lions still being one of the best teams in football, and the Raiders always giving the Chiefs fits, being a division game.

Navigate those three and emerge, say, 4-3, and the Chiefs can then attack the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills before their bye week.

Are the Chiefs back? We might hold fire for the next couple of weeks.
