Sanders is still the talk of the town.
NFL insider reveals real reason Shedeur Sanders mimed his reaction to Browns QB news originally appeared on The Sporting News
There is certainly no shortage of drama for the Cleveland Browns right now, with Shedeur Sanders forced to bide his time in the shadows with the Browns struggling at 1-3.
Now comes a change, as Dillon Gabriel, not Sanders, has been named the starting quarterback for Kevin Stefanski's offense, which is an interesting decision. When Shedeur was asked about it in the locker room on Wednesday, he didn't say a word.
Instead, he mimed his answers, leaving everyone confused as to what exactly his point was of doing that.
Well, now we know.
ESPN's Adam Schefter posted on X a rant by former NFL head coach Rex Ryan as he put Sanders on full blast.
"He talks, he runs his mouth like I could be a starting quarterback," Ryan said on ESPN's GetUp on Monday.
Ryan also stated that Sanders has the talent to be the starting quarterback, and he should be, so it appears Sanders going mute was in direct response to Ryan's rant, according to Schefter.

When will Shedeur Sanders start?
That is the million-dollar question, folks.
And the answer is we don't know.
There is a thought that the reason Sanders hasn't seen the field in the regular season is that right now, he's simply not good enough. We saw him flash in preseason at times, but it is clear that the Browns coaching staff sees Gabriel as a better option to turn the early-season tide.
When Sanders will get his start is unknown, but we imagine more antics like his mime interview might not exactly sit well with the locker room.
In reality, if Gabriel goes in and stinks up the place for the next couple of weeks, because the Browns won't just give him one game, he'll get a decent amount of runway, then Sanders might get thrown into the fire.
But right now, despite all of Cleveland's quarterback problems, Sanders still isn't seen as a possible answer. And that might speak volumes.
