Arsenal maintained their strong start in the Champions League beating Olympiacos 2 - 0 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring early before Bukayo Saka sealed the win deep into stoppage time.

The Gunners went ahead in the 12 minute when Martinelli pounced on rebound after Viktor Gyokeres' effort was saved.

Olympiacos tried to respond, with Ayoub El Kaabi & Daniel Podence threatening but David Raya stood firm to protect Arsenal’s lead.

Olympiacos denied equaliser

The visitors thought they'd levelled through Chiquinho in the 2nd half but the goal was ruled out for offside against El Kaabi.

Arsenal wasted several chances, with Gyokeres & Leandro Trossard both off target before manager Mikel Arteta introduced Saka and Eberechi Eze.

Saka delivers decisive blow

The changes proved crucial. Saka’s pace unsettled Olympiacos and in the 92 minute he combined with Martin Ødegaard before slotting coolly between the goalkeeper’s legs to confirm Arsenal’s 2nd win in as many matches.

With the result Arsenal climb to 6 point from 2 game sitting 5th in the overall league phase standings.

Olympiacos remain with just 1 point and face uphill battle to qualify.
