Seahawks Week 5 Wednesday injury report: Nick Emmanwori fully practices

The Seahawks have a few notable starters not practicing, but an exciting rookie appears to be back.

The Seattle Seahawks have had a little extra time off following their Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. Their first injury report for Week 5’s big showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been released, and the good news is it’s light on names. The bad news is it’s fairly heavy on key players. Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, and Demarcus Lawrence all sat out practice with their respective injuries. It’s a day-by-day thing for Lawrence after getting hurt in the Cardinals game, whereas Witherspoon and Love played in Week 4 but have otherwise missed game time already.

To talk anybody out of panic, Wednesday practice tends to be the least important in terms of gauging game availability. Seattle also had a bonus practice on Monday (which did not require an injury report to be filed), so it’s possible that Love and Spoon may have had rest days. The other DNP was reserve tackle Josh Jones, who remains out with an ankle injury suffered in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

Nick Emmanwori, who’s been out since opening day with an ankle sprain, practiced on Monday and was a full participant on Wednesday. Odds are looking good that he’ll be back on the field this week. Wide receiver Cody White was also a full participant with a shoulder injury.

Now… let’s compare this injury report to Tampa Bay’s:

You know you’re banged up when you have to do a walkthrough and it’s not a short week. Bucky Irving will be one to monitor, as the star running back has a foot sprain that is considered a week-to-week injury.

Check back in on Thursday for a potentially better idea of who’s in and who’s out for Sunday afternoon.
