HIGH POINT, N.C. (WHTM) — The York Revolution won their fifth Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Championship, coming back from a three-run deficit.

It’s the second ALPB title for the team in two years, making it the first in league history to win back-to-back titles twice. The Revs defeated the High Point Rockers in Game 4 on Wednesday to claim the title at Truist Point stadium.

York has never lost an ALPB Championship series, but the Rockers gave the team their toughest battle yet, including only their second loss in championship series history.

That loss came in a blistering 9-3 defeat on Sunday. The start of Game 4 looked to be going a similar way with the Rockers leading York 3-0 at the end of the first inning.

However, York’s Shayne Fontana wouldn’t let the party rock for very long in High Point, opening scoring for the Revs in the top of the second inning with a home run. It was his second in two nights.

After that, York would only continue to climb in scoring. Kyle Martin tied the game with an RBI double in the top fifth.

And from there it was homer, after homer, after homer.

Before the fifth inning was over, Caleb McNeely scored a two-run homer to make it 5-3 for the Revs.

Jaylin Davis brought it to 6-4 in the eighth with a home run deep to right field.

High Point couldn’t muster a response, adding just one more run to the board, and Elvis Peralta sealed the deal for York in the ninth with another home run to end it 7-4.

Elvis has left the building. York completed their repeat run.
