The Braves’ offseason began in earnest Wednesday, as their managerial search began and they started their roster reset. We should all appreciate what Snitker has meant to this organization over the last 50 years, but also what he has done as manager for the last 8. He brought Atlanta a World Series, managed arguably the greatest offensive team in MLB history, and overall a great stretch of baseball for the franchise. That said, it feels like the right time for him as an individual and for the franchise to move forward with a new manager. David Ross feels like the favorite and there are a few in-house candidates that could get interviews, but I wouldn’t be surprised for it to be a name that many of us aren’t familiar with who fills that role. Either way, it adds intrigue to an offseason that already looked to be interesting, with two starting caliber catchers on the roster, a hole at shortstop that may be Ha-Seong Kim’s to fill, the need for some rotation help, prospect capital to trade, money to spend, and coming off the franchise’s worst season in nearly a decade.

Demetrius covered Snitker’s retirement press conference, which was an emotional affair and featured a number of high-quality quotes.

The Braves started their annual roster reset, outrighting Jarred Kelenic and Luke Williams, among five players total.

The Rays will be looking to upgrade at catcher this offseason, making them a potential landing spot for Sean Murphy, should Atlanta be open to moving the veteran.

Albert Pujols may be the leader in the clubhouse to be the Angels’ next manager, replacing Braves’ legend Ron Washington.

The Rockies are moving on from their GM and will search outside of the organization for his replacement.
