Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool look to be the main clubs who will pursue Bayern Munich star winger Michael Olise this summer:
This week’s edition of SportBild has a big feature on Premier League interest in Michael Olise. The 23-year-old old moved from Crystal Palace to Bayern Munich in July 2024 and has impressed in the Bundesliga.
SportBild push Liverpool interest the strongest. They also claim Manchester City and Chelsea are very keen on the right winger. So much so that both would be happy to spend €100m on him next summer.
Manchester City and Chelsea, along with the Reds for that matter, may well be being used to hype the work of Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl. He’s spoken directly to the German magazine about the interest and appears to be where the claims have leaked from.
At this point, we know that Bayern Munich is going to attempt to get ahead of this situation, but it could be very tempting given how much money he is likely to be offered. Regardless, Olise continues to excel as evidenced by his five goals and six assists in nine games across all competitions this season.
Bayern has legitimate interest in Guéhi (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich is reportedly very interested in Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guéhi.
We know that there is a little uncertainty surrounding the futures of Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae. If one or both players leave Bavaria, Guéhi could be the primary target:
It is true that Bayern are interested in Marc Guehi. He became the number one target when Dean Huijsen fell off the market. However, Bayern still had the same problem – they had to sell Kim Min-jae first! There were talks with Saudi Arabian clubs, but in the end, he stayed at Bayern Munich. Otherwise, Guehi would have become another player for Bayern Munich. They’ve already made a really, really good deal with a player from Crystal Palace in Michael Olise. So they see that the quality is there. And the important thing is he’s still on the list of Bayern Munich for the next summer. But as everyone knows, Liverpool and Palace were really close on this deal; they were already in agreement with the player. But at the end, Oliver Glasner said, “No, I need this player”. Now we have to wait another year. But as I now understand it, Guehi has an eye on Real Madrid and Real Madrid have an eye on him. So it could be good news for Bayern Munich if the La Liga giants get him – perhaps they won’t lose Dayot Upamecano. However, as I already mentioned, if Alaba and Rüdiger are leaving the club, they’ll need to sign two defenders.
It’s true that Castello Lukeba is also on the list. He’s an interesting player for Bayern Munich as well. In the years before Max Eberl, Bayern Munich always had a main target who they were hellbent on signing above all else. Max Eberl is working a little bit more like the Premier League clubs with a shortlist, keeping track of a number of targets who may fall below the number one or two target just in case they’re not on the market. But I think this strategy has always brought Bayer Munich success. If you don’t get the big names, international names – get players from the Bundesliga. They know the Bundesliga; they can improve and develop at Bayern Munich. This would also represent a sound transfer strategy. But don’t forget: Konaté was a player also from Leipzig. He could be on the market next summer as a free agent. Bayern Munich also have an eye on him.

Barca chasing Álvarez? (ESPN)
As FC Barcelona starts to ponder what a future without Robert Lewandowski looks like, it could be eyeing Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez as the Polish Hitman’s replacement:
A move for Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez is being explored by Barcelona, according to Diario Sport. Club president Joan Laporta is believed to have placed the 25-year-old at the top of Barça’s shortlist as they continue their search to land a forward to potentially replace 37-year-old Robert Lewandowski. However, there is belief that a deal could be difficult, with the Blaugrana expecting Atleti to demand an offer worth €200 million. The report adds that Barça are also yet to rule out a move for Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, with the LaLiga champions lining up a statement signing for 2026, when the club’s presidential election will take place. Haaland, 25, remains contracted at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2034.

United to beat Chelsea to Yildiz? (ESPN)
Manchester United could beat Premier League rival to Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz:
Manchester United hold a key advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, Football Insider reports. Should Marcus Rashford complete a permanent switch to Barcelona next summer, as many at United expect, funds would be freed up to finance a bid for Yildiz. The Turkey international is expected to cost upward of £80 million, although that could rise substantially higher if Juve agree on a new deal with him.
Wirtz given assurance his slow start won’t hurt his standing (Sky Germany via Get German Football News)
Liverpool attacker Florian Wirtz has yet to make a big impact for the Reds, but he does not have to look over his shoulder just yet.
“The coach told me that in the squad, you don’t have to put any pressure on yourself about how much you cost, because it feels like everyone around you could cost just as much if they were playing somewhere else,” Wirtz said.
