At this week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour, DJ appears to have maintained any momentum he took out of Indianapolis.
Dustin Johnson finished off the LIV Golf season in style, posting a third-place finish with a score of 20 under at the final individual event of the year at Indianapolis.
The 41-year-old two-time major winner ended up in 14th place overall on the circuit, although he hasn't won since early in 2024 when he was victorious in Las Vegas.
But at this week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour, DJ appears to have maintained any momentum he took out of Indianapolis.
During Thursday's opening round at Carnoustie, Johnson came out of the gates with seven birdies in his first 11 holes, then added an eagle, before cruising home with a half-dozen pars in a row en route to a 64 that put him squarely in the conversation.
Although Johnson's brother Austin is typically his caddie, the 2020 Masters champ had experienced caddie Gareth Lord on the bag for the opening round at the Dunhill. Lord helped Henrik Stenson win the 2016 Open title at Royal Troon.
The field in Scotland this week is loaded with big names, including several stars of Europe's victorious Ryder Cup squad, as well as several notable names from the PGA Tour and a slew of Johnson's fellow LIV Golf opponents.

This event is one of the most exciting on the DP World Tour, offering golfers the rare opportunity to compete over four days across three iconic courses: the Old Course at St. Andrews, Carnoustie Golf Links, and Kingsbarns Golf Links.
Ryan Brehm posted a 63 to take the early clubhouse lead on Thursday.
