Who is playing Thursday Night Football tonight? 49ers at Rams, how to watch, predictions

The San Francisco 49ers travel to take on the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium as big Thursday Night Football underdogs.

A San Francisco team riddled with injuries hits the road to play the Los Angeles Rams in an NFC West battle of 3-1 teams.

Both are off to a quick start this season, though the 49ers are in a bit of a health quandary, as they have ruled out quarterback Brock Purdy and receivers Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall and Jordan Watkins for this game.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (9) throws against the Indianapolis Colts during the second half at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sept. 28, 2025.

That adds up to the Los Angeles Rams coming in as more than a touchdown home favorite, making them one of the largest favorites of the weekend against a team that has won three-quarters of its games.

Bookies.com: Bet the Rams to cover vs 49ers

Bill Speros writes: "The LA Rams and San Francisco 49ers stand poised to take the NFC West race down to Week 17. The winner here grabs the early edge. The 49ers remain dogged by critical injuries this season – DE Joey Bosa is lost for the year and QB Brock Purdy rode the bench in back-to-back wins in Weeks 2 and 3. Purdy was terrible in SF's loss to Jacksonville. The Rams bounced back from their kick-six loss to Philly by knocking the Colts from the ranks of the unbeaten. Sean McVay's team has its footing. This line moved a point on Monday."

Sports Betting Dime: Rams 16.8, 49ers 15.2

Sportsnaut: Rams 24, 49ers 17

Matt Johnson writes: "Injuries have once again taken a toll on the San Francisco 49ers. In their first game without Nick Bosa, San Francisco allowed 6.5 yards per carry and 124 rushing yards to Travis Etienne while failing to record even a single quarterback hit or sack. On top of that, the 49ers’ offensive line struggled to protect Brock Purdy. Now, the 49ers face a Los Angeles Rams team that just recorded a 48.6 percent pressure rate against the Colts’ offensive line, and this Rams’ offense is averaging 4.5 yards per carry this season. Thursday Night Football games tend to be fairly close, but Los Angeles has the big advantages that should result in a win."
