Ahead of the 2025 college football season, Texas quarterback Arch Manning was the toast of the sport.

Some analysts even had Manning tabbed to win the Heisman Trophy in his first full season as a starter.

It hasn’t worked out that way so far.

But given that, are NFL scouts concerned for Manning’s development and future at the next level?

A recent story in The Athletic signals scouts are worried.

“He’s talented, but he needs to get rid of what’s going on with him. I don’t know if it’s all mental, but I do know he’s dealing with a level of pressure that nobody else we’re talking about is dealing with,” an anonymous scout told The Athletic. “We just need to see a lot more of him before anybody can make a determination about him. He just really hasn’t played a lot. It’s OK to be a little bit developmental and still have high upside. You just gotta let him develop.”

But is it too soon to panic?

Chances are… it is.
