The Jays and Yankees play Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 Eastern.
Detroit and Seattle play 8:30 Eastern Saturday and 8:00 Sunday, in Seattle.
Cubs and Brewers play 2:00 Eastern Saturday and 9:00 Monday, in Milwaukee.
Dodgers and Phillies play 6:30 Eastern Saturday and 6:00 Eastern Monday in Philadelphia.
The Yankees got a great start from Cam Schlittler, who went 8 innings of shutout ball, giving up five hits, no walks with 13 strikeouts. Just amazing.
And they scored four runs in the fourth inning. Cody Bellinger led off with a double. Giancarlo Stanton walked. After a Ben Rice strikeout, Amed Rosario singled home one. Jazz Chisholm singled to load the bases. Anthony Volpe singled home one more. Austin Wells reached on an error, which allowed two more to score. And that was the game.
Maybe Connelly Early wasn’t the right choice to start the game?
Schlittler was the Yankee of the Day, with a .323 WPA. Stanton and Rosario would get honourable mention.
Tomorrow, we will see the Jays’ roster and likely will be told how the starting rotation will shake out.
