Crystal Palace are reportedly desperate to tie Oliver Glasner to a new contract.

The Austrian’s future at Selhurst Park has become a source of speculation as Manchester United are considering him to replace Ruben Amorim as their new manager

According to Sky Sport journalist Kaveh Solhekol, Palace would do whatever it takes to convince Glasner to commit his future to the club.

The 51-year-old’s contract will expire next summer, and the Eagles are expected to ramp up talks over his future during the international break.

The South Londoners have held positive discussions with Glasner over the future plans for the club.

It is said the Austrian would like assurances from Palace that they are serious about building upon the success he has already had.

Glasner would not turn down Man Utd if they come calling

Amorim is facing enormous scrutiny at United, but he still retains the backing of minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

However, Ratcliffe could be forced to sack the Portuguese if he fails to lead his team to victory against newly-promoted Sunderland on Saturday.

Glasner is said to be on their manager shortlist, along with Graham Potter and Andoni Iraola.

If United come calling, it would be very hard for the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss to turn them down.

The Red Devils are one of the best clubs in the world, and an opportunity like that may not come in his lifetime again.

Glasner was not happy with Palace’s transfer strategy in the summer, and intervened to prevent Marc Guehi’s move to Liverpool on deadline day.

Joining United would mean he would have an enormous transfer kitty to improve the squad.
