Booing UFC 320 fans ‘mad’ at Magomed Ankalaev because ‘Big Ank’ keeps ‘beating their favorite fighters’ and ‘killed Chama’

UFC light heavyweight champion, Magomed Ankalaev, had to face fickle fight fans for the first time since defeating former 205-pound titleholder, Alex Pereira, atop the UFC 313 pay-per-view (PPV) event back in March. Not surprisingly, “Big Ank” was showered with boos at the UFC 320 press conference, held just a few days in advance of their Oct. 4 rematch in Las Vegas.

Perhaps they were just mourning the death of Chama.

“There is no more Chama, we killed it,” Ankalaev said during Thursday’s presser. “Them booing me doesn’t mean they don’t like me. The reason is, I keep beating their favorite fighters and they’re just mad at me. I can’t do nothing about it. The reason he became a champion is because I wasn’t there and now I’m here. I’m going to put a stamp on this on Saturday, beat him again and then all the questions will be answered.”

We don’t need answers from Ankalaev, we need finishes.

“For this fight, I’m gonna go Alex Pereira,” former “Poatan” opponent, Israel Adesanya, said on YouTube. “But it’s not gonna be an easy fight, based on the first fight, from what I’ve seen. It’s easier said than done, but I think Alex can do it. I’m gonna go ‘Poatan’ by (decision) in this fight. He’s more motivated. He hasn’t lost that light heavyweight (title) and had that fire, where it’s like, “F—k man, I’ve gotta get this back.’ It’s something different when you want to get back.”

Adesanya was proof of that at UFC 287.
