Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is currently signed to a five-year $97 million deal. He will not be a free agent until after the 2028 NFL season.

The Cowboys defense is one of the worst units in the NFL this season. They are off to a 1-2-1 start, and they will face the New York Jets this week. No matter what happens with Dallas within the next few weeks, are they on the verge of potentially trading away some players to other teams?

Dallas Cowboys Trevon Diggs Could Be on the Move

There are many players who could potentially be traded before the NFL trade deadline. The trade deadline is on Tuesday, November 4 at 4 p.m. CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin wrote about who are the top trade candidates are at this year's deadline.

He believes that the Cowboys cornerback could potentially be on the move. Benjamin said about Diggs being on the trade block, "We're not so sure Jerry Jones is ready to part with yet another splashy defender in the wake of the Micah Parsons breakup, but Diggs is now in and out of the starting lineup as part of Dallas' porous secondary, and dealing him would clear tens of millions off the Cowboys' books from 2025-2028."

If Dallas were to trade him, this would signal that this team is waiving the white flag for the 2025 NFL season. The defense is already atrocious as it is and would make it even worse. With that being said, the Cowboys already own two first round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Would Dallas be able to get a first-round pick back for him considering he has three years remaining on his contract after the 2025 NFL season? Diggs has recorded 11 tackles this season. There are contending teams that need cornerback help. He is going to be a name to watch for to be dealt over the next month.
