It is a bye week for Oregon, Indiana, Iowa, Rutgers, and USC are on a bye. Next week the Hoosiers and Ducks face off in Eugene too, setting the stage for what should be a really good game. The busy timeslot this week is the 3:30pm spot with four league games happening. Fortunately, Purdue will be finished up by then.

Wisconsin (2-2, 0-1) at #20 Michigan (3-1, 1-0) – B1G Nude Saturday, FOX

We live in a strange world where Wisconsin is bad. They haven’t truly been awful since the early 90s, so seeing them struggle this much is weird. They just got pushed around at home by Maryland of all teams. Maryland! Michigan is one of those teams that seems to get a little better each week, too, so not a good spot for the Badgers. Michigan 31, Wisconsin 10

#22 Illinois (4-1, 1-1) at Purdue (2-2, 0-1) – Noon, BTN

Last year Purdue had some hype coming out of its bye week before hosting Notre Dame. That was quite the disaster. Will Barry Odom have his team better prepared after a week off? It would be kind of hard to have a worse result than last year’s blasting at hte hands of Notre Dame. The defense clearly needs some work after the last two games, but the offense has been effective. Just a little defense can lead to an upset here. Purdue 35, Illinois 31

#7 Penn State (3-1, 0-1) at UCLA (0-4, 0-1) – 3:30pm, CBS

Here is the most lopsided game of the week. I have a feeling Penn State will be very grumpy having to go across the country after a brutal double overtime loss to Oregon. It’s a good thing that they have UCLA. The Bruins are an absolute mess on multiple levels right now, and if they somehow won this it would be a shocking upset. Penn State 45, UCLA 10

Washington (3-1, 0-1) at Maryland (4-0, 1-0) – 3:30pm, BTN

If you had a time machine and went back 15 years to tell me that Washington at Maryland would be a Big Ten conference game I would not have believed you. In a way, I still don’t. Is this a September Maryland 4-0 or are the Terps legit? I like to give the edge to the team staying home and not crossing the country. Maryland 28, Washington 24

Louisiana-Monroe (3-1) at Northwestern (2-2) – 3:30pm, BTN

The Wildcats get relegated to the BTN overflow channel for a game against one of the normal bottom feeders of FBS. Can the Warhawks get themselves a Big Ten pelt? They are 0-5 against the conference all-time, with three of the losses coming to Minnesota. The Wildcats are a double digit favorite, which feels quite ambitious. Northwestern 24, Louisiana-Monroe 21

Michigan State (3-1, 0-1) at Nebraska (3-1, 0-1) – 4pm, Fox Sports 1

These teams are pretty even so far and are both coming off of their first loss of the season. Michigan State lost at USC two weeks ago, while Nebraska lost a close one at home to Michigan. Both are decent, but one will be 0-2 in the conference at the end of the day. The Huskers have just one game left against a ranked opponent, so they could get on quite a little run with a win here. Nebraska 27, Michigan State 21

Minnesota (3-1, 1-0) at #1 Ohio State (4-0, 1-0) 7:30pm, NBC

The Buckeye defense is just nasty so far. It has given up just 22 points in four games. Minnesota is going to need at least that many, if not quite a few more. The Gophers survived a missed field goal at home last week against Rutgers, but this one shouldn’t come down to that. Ohio State 31, Minnesota 7
