Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue made an equipment change at practice this week that proved to be a bad idea.

Blue debuted new blue and white Louis Vuitton Nike cleats at practice Thursday, but he paid the price for wearing his snazzy new gear.

Over the course of practice, Blue started to develop painful blisters on his feet that obviously made practice much more difficult, which led to Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer calling the equipment change a "questionable decision."

"He went out there with some cool new cleats - Louis Vuitton Nikes," the Cowboys head coach said of the rookie running back. "You should go get you a pair, but they give you blisters and so about halfway through practice I saw him laying there, I was like, what the hell happened to Blue?

"'Oh, coach, I'm fine. I have blisters. I was like, 'Oh, shocker. Look at the cool shoes you got.' That's part of what you deal with in young players," Schotty added. "And quickly he changed his cleat and it's amazing the blisters weren't as bad."

Blue quickly learned his lesson and changed out of the cleats, and he didn't go back to the Louis V cleats on Friday, either.

Thankfully, there is no concern about his availability for Sunday, which is important to note because the Cowboys might need him.

Blue has yet to dress for a game this season and it has been a disappointing start to his career after it was assumed he'd have at least a small role on offense out of the gate.

Instead, the Cowboys have only dressed running backs Javonte Williams, who is playing the best football of his career, and Miles Sanders, and fullback Hunter Luepke.

But Blue is expected to get into a game in Week 5, as Sanders' status remains up in the air after not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday due to knee and ankle issues.

ESPN's Todd Archer notes that Blue could return kicks on top of getting some work as a kick returner.

Just imagine if Blue ended up not being able to make his long-awaited debut because of his cleat decision. Talk about disaster averted.
