Ruben Amorim press conference vs Sunderland: “Nobody here is naive”

Ruben Amorim has admitted he needs to start winning if he wants to keep his job at United.

Asked if he feels his job is in danger, the head coach said “Nobody here is naïve. We understand that we need results to continue the project.

“We will reach a point that is impossible for everyone because this is a very big club with a lot of sponsors, with two owners. So the balance is really hard. It’s a dream to be here, and I want to continue and I want to fight for this.”

The following question was about him saying previously he was not worried about losing his job, he said:

“Because the worst thing in this job is to not win games. It was the same thing in Casa Pia in the third division, and it’s the same thing here. It’s a job. I want to be here, I want to continue here, I want to fight, but the problem is now.”

The boss was speaking in the embargoed section of the pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Sunderland at Old Trafford.

The first part of the press conference was covered in this article.
