Notable names who missed the cut at 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship

The second of seven PGA Tour Fall series events goes to the weekend but these notable names won't continue after missing the cut Friday.

The PGA Tour's Fall series has seven events, including this week's Sanderson Farms Championship. These tournaments are a big deal for those angling for status in 2026.

New rules say that the top 100 in the FedEx standings at the conclusion of the FedEx Cup Fall secure a tour card next season. That's down from 125 from previous years. Nos. 101-125 will have conditional status on the PGA Tour.

Each round during these fall events will have a game-within-the-game, as players compete for trophies and paychecks but also precious points towards 2026.

Then there's those on the other end of the spectrum. Missing cuts while fighting for status can be damaging and that's what happened to some notable names at the Country Club of Jackson.

Keith Mitchell plays his shot from the fifth tee during the first round of the 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship at The Country Club of Jackson.
