Yesterday, Saturday, the Orlando Pirates’ opponent for the 2nd preliminary round of the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League was officially revealed.The South Africans will face DR Congo’s Saint-Éloi Lupopo in what promises to be a high-octane showdown.

Orlando Pirates to face Saint-Éloi Lupopo in the 2nd preliminary round

The Pirates advanced to this stage after a dominant performance in the first round, handing Lylly a crushing defeat with a 7-0 aggregate score, underlining their ambition to finally claim the long-awaited continental crown.The South African club is currently in red-hot form, riding a streak of eight straight wins across all competitions.On the other side, Saint-Éloi Lupopo of DR Congo booked their ticket to the second round after a goalless draw against Sudan’s Al-Merrikh at the Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, having secured victory in the first leg to seal their progress.The first leg between these two sides will be played on October 18 at Stade Frédéric Kibassa Maliba in Lubumbashi, with the return fixture set for October 25 at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.
