After a wild night of action, UFC 320 is officially in the books. We have a new champion at light heavyweight, and Merab Dvalishvili continued his dominant reign at 135 pounds. There have been rumblings for some time that new UFC light heavyweight king Alex Pereira could soon end his run at 205 pounds and move up to the heavyweight division. It was a question posed to UFC boss Dana White on Saturday night, and he revealed the champ’s camp told him this week about their plans to move up. However, it seems like White would prefer the Brazilian to defend his title a couple of times.

“I dunno. There’s still fights here in this division,” White said in his post-fight presser. “But we’ll see. This guy’s been an absolute stud for us. He fights when somebody fell out, fights when he’s hurt. He wants to fight everybody, [or] wants to move up to heavyweight. He’s a dream to have in this organization.

Former two-division champion Conor McGregor has made it clear he wants to return for the 2026 card on the White House lawn. And he even claimed recently that he is negotiating directly with the Trump administration to fight at the event. However, White revealed that zero negotiations for the card have started.

“We’re still talking about the production and how everything will work at the White House. We have not started negotiating any fight for the White House yet,” White said. “That won’t even start until February… Conor is very fired up to fight on that card, but nothing is done yet. And no fights are being negotiated with the White House.”

UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili successfully defended his belt for a third time on Saturday night. Decisively defeating Cory Sandhagen. His latest win has added more momentum to the debate that he is the best fighter in the division’s history. His boss would agree with that assessment.

“Everybody always doubts [Dvalishvili]. Cory is a very tough guy, and it wasn’t the most exciting fight of the night, but Merab dominated… Absolutely [he’s the best bantamweight ever],” the UFC boss said.

Could Mark Zuckerberg help make a UFC Hawaii event happen?

The idea of the UFC taking its violence circus on the road to Hawaii was brought up during the UFC 320 post-fight presser. It is something that has been talked about for years, and White claimed he is in talks with state officials to make it happen. The big issue is the sort of arena to make an event worth the company’s efforts.

However, the UFC boss had a novel idea and claims he suggested to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg — who was at UFC 320 — that he is the only billionaire in the world without an arena, and maybe he could help fund a new stadium to help bring the UFC and other major events to the island.

White says Canelo vs. Crawford was a ‘flawless’ event

Last month’s Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford super-fight, promoted by White, was a huge financial and viewership success. Yet the same issues fans have had with boxing for years — late main event start times, sluggish tempo — that White claimed he would fix remained. However, when asked what he thought about the first event he promoted under the Zuffa Boxing banner, he didn’t see anything wrong.

“It went great. The event couldn’t have gone off any better than it did,” said White. “It was very successful. People there felt that the live event was great. The commission told us it was the best boxing event they have probably done in two decades, as far as the team and how smoothly everything was run. Obviously, Netflix was very happy. It was as close to flawless as can be.

“It’s no different than the UFC, and Power Slap, and the things I do, things evolve, and you figure out how things can be tweaked and done better.”
