Cheshire Academy (Mass.) Rivals300 quarterback Keegan Croucher has committed to Ole Miss.

The ballyhooed passer chose to play for head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels over his other top schools in Oregon and Penn State. He was their top signal-caller on the board.

”Ole Miss jumped out to me right away,” Croucher said. “The offense they have and built was the first intriguing thing about them. My first visit down there went as expected and was amazing. Getting to know the coaches and the staff down there was awesome. Everyone down there is awesome. They have amazing hospitality and are very respectful.”

Kiffin, Joe Judge and Charlie Weis Jr. all played a part for Croucher and are guys he wants to play for.

“Coach Judge, Kiffin and Weis, all three of them are awesome. They are amazing people and know the game better than anyone else. I have built a very good relationship with those three and everyone in the building. The place, Oxford I fell in love with. Really like how everything is set up there. In the end I feel very confident about what they can do for me and what I can do for them. They can develop me into a top caliber player in the SEC. Can’t wait for it! I’m very blessed for this amazing opportunity.”

The four-star Croucher was back in Oxford for Ole Miss’s win over LSU last Saturday.

“This was my first game at Ole Miss, it exceeded expectations,” Croucher said. “The atmosphere was legit. Getting that win over a top five team in the country is awesome. The direction this program is going in the right way and it’s not going anywhere else. What Coach Kiffin has done is incredible.”

The 6-foot-4 1/2, 200-pound Croucher becomes commit No. 5 for the Rebels in the 2027 class, one that the Rivals Industry previously ranked No. 11 nationally.

Rivals ranks Croucher as the nation’s No. 9 quarterback and No. 113 prospect overall. Kiffin, Charlie Weis Jr. and Joe Judge recruited him to Ole Miss.

Croucher has always raved about Ole Miss as well.

“I think they’re awesome,” Croucher said. “Very good people. They are offensive gurus. They have done a great job in the past. I think their offense shows the quarterback off and is based off what the quarterback can do. The addition of Coach Joe Judge is amazing too. Having him on the staff with NFL experience is something you don’t see everywhere.”

As a freshman Croucher threw for 2,934 yards and 31 touchdowns to three interceptions. Last year he passed for 2,052 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Besides the programs mentioned, Croucher also held offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Indiana, Miami and North Carolina among others.
