Deprived of their prodigy Lamine Yamal, FC Barcelona suffered their very first defeat in La Liga this Sunday.
It’s been a dismal week for FC Barcelona. Defeated last Wednesday by PSG (1-2) in the Champions League, Barça followed up with a second and heavy loss, this time on the pitch of Sevilla FC (1-4) on Sunday. This came during Matchday 8 of La Liga.
Without Lamine Yamal, the Blaugrana were completely outplayed. They conceded penalties to Sanchez (13’) and Romero (36’) in the first half. Rashford gave Barça a glimmer of hope just before halftime (45’+7), but Lewandowski squandered the chance to level from the spot with a missed penalty a quarter of an hour from time. In the dying minutes, Barça conceded two more goals, with Carmona (90’) and Adams (90’+6) sealing the rout.
