The Cincinnati Bengals held a moment of silence and tribute to former running back Rudi Johnson, who died in September at age 45, before their NFL Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions at Paycor Stadium.

In a statement from the team at the time of his death, the Bengals referred to Johnson as one of the top rushers in franchise history.

"Rudi was a fine person and an excellent running back for us," said Bengals president Mike Brown. "He was dependable and productive as a player, and very popular among his teammates. Everyone liked him and saw him as a dear friend. We are deeply saddened by his passing."

Johnson played for the Bengals from 2001 to 2007.
