Mack attack has a new home.
Why the Bills let Mack Hollins leave for the Patriots originally appeared on The Sporting News
Mack Hollins is one of the NFL's most eccentric players.
He adores being barefoot, and he makes choices that align with that type of thinking, too.
This season, he has brought that personality to the New England Patriots.
He departed the Buffalo Bills for an AFC East rival after being a fan favorite of Bills Mafia.
On Sunday night, Hollins gets the chance to take on his former team in primetime in front of a national audience.
One thing's for sure: Hollins will be fired up for the showdown.
Why Bills let Mack Hollins leave for Patriots
The Bills decided they wanted to go in a different direction at wide receiver.
As free agency opened up, the Bills signed Joshua Palmer from the Los Angeles Chargers. That essentially opened up the door for Hollins to leave.
Hollins, 31, was a solid player for the Bills who Josh Allen trusted in the red zone.
But he also likely didn't have a long future, and Buffalo's crowded WR corps didn't need him back
Why Patriots signed Mack Hollins
The Patriots saw some value in Hollins in free agency.
He only needed a two-year, $8.4 million contract to get him on board.
He also is capable of contributing on special teams in addition to joining a group trying to lift up second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
Hollins had played for Josh McDaniels before, too, one last deciding factor.
And based on how Hollins carries himself, it's no surprise he wouldn't mind showing Buffalo what it's missing out on.
